Dipawali is one of the eminent festivals in India. Though, we have many festivals in India Dipawali has occupied a prominent place among the all. It is the festival of joy and happiness accompanied by heavy lighting and sounds of crackers. It is the most auspicious day for Indians to start a new business or a work. On this auspicious day people usually brings the idols of lord Lakshmi and lord Ganesha to their homes. They perform Lakshmi pooja in a specified manner. Usually people believe that on the day of Dipawali lord Lakshmi will be available readily to shower her blessings on the people or the devotees. The process of pranprathisthi will be practiced on the day of Dipawali. People decorates their house with lights and blasts the crackers in front of their homes by believing that it will drive out their sadness and worries from their life.
As we know that, for every work there needs a specific person to perform because all cannot perform all works in a desired manner. The person with the all desired knowledge of pooja is termed as pundit. So pundits are invited to ones house to perform the pooja. Pundits are also not available readily all the time and a common person cannot perform this pooja. Pranpratisthi is the process practiced to pray the god. The word pranpratisthi means getting the life or soul seated constantly. So these results in the gap developed between the god and devotee. People will lose the opportunity of getting blessed by the god.
Apart from the above, due to heavy competition and globalization people are getting very busy with their own schedule. They don’t find enough time to perform the process called pranpratisthi by which they may lose the opportunity of praying the god in a specified manner. So in order to make the people free from the above problem and to fill up the gap that has been developed due to non-performing of the pranpratisthi, we have introduced the three varieties of god and goddesses idols. These idols are available in mud, metal and silver. These idols are the alternative choice for the people who are not in a position to perform the pranpratistshi.
People can choose the idol of their own choice depending on their purchasing potential and their financial status. The most main purpose of these idols is to replace the pundits. If the person takes these idols to their homes they themselves serve the process of pranpratisthi. After placing them at home then, there never exists the obligation of performing the pranprastisthi because the conditions of pranpratisthi will be full filled and satisfied by the idols itself. These idols are the integrated pranpratisthi of the lord Lakshmi and Ganesha. Hence these are highly recommendable for the people with busy schedule to celebrate Dipawali in an effective manner.
