Shri Satyanarayana Vrat Return Puja Vidhi
Anyone can fast on a full moon day. You can do it either in the morning or in the evening. The observer has to fast until the puja is completed smoothly.
- The puja begins with a prayer to Lord Ganesha. Then the worship of Lord Vishnu begins. A special bhog made of yogurt, sugar and honey called ‘Panchamrit’ is prepare and poured over the image of Lord Vishnu.
- Then the devotees chant “Satyanarayan” 1008 times after which a special Yagya is perform. In this ritual, fruits and flowers are put into the fire as offerings. The priest then reads the Satyanarayana Katha and everyone pays full attention.
